Jason and I are really starting to get excited now. We were excited before, but now it's feeling real...the end is in sight!! We have a tentative walk-through date scheduled for January 8, 2008. That will be the day we go through the house with our blue tape and look for anything that needs to be fixed - after that it will be all ours!!
We're in the stage now where any progress they make is visable - lights being hung, cabinets installed. This morning we went over to check on the countertops and they look AMAZING!! So far we're finding that the choices we made have really coordinated well. The last "obstacle" will be to see how the flooring looks. That will probably be sometime next week.
Here are a few pictures of our new home. We can't wait to move in and start having GUESTS!! So come visit us!!!!!!!!

The kitchen as seen from the dining room area.

A little bit closer.

The breakfast bar looking into the living/dining area.

The living room and our corner fireplace. Probably going to be my favorite place in the house. =)

Our little dining area and sliding door which leads into the back yard. Eventually we'll have a nice deck and a hot tub out there.

The Hallway leading the bedrooms (two on the left), skinny linen closet, guest bathroom and around the corner to the right is the master bedroom & bath.

The entrance.

And our pretty front door. =)

A few more pictures.

Just a little update on the progress. Texturing is finished and they'll be painting this week. :)

Sorry for the lack of human pictures. With Jason working up in Denali during the week, it's hard to get shots of us together. We're going to Talkeetna to have a late Thanksgiving with my dad this wekend so maybe he'll help us out and snap a few pics.

Happy (late) Halloween

For the first time in about 10 years I went trick-or-treating. No, not by myself, I went with my stepsister (dressed as a big baby) and her son, Eli (10 yrs old, dressed as a Mime - didn't get a picture before his make-up wore off). It was really fun to spend time with them, and Eli did such a great job with his mime routine - pretending he was in a box. He got a lot of extra candy for his performance!!! I didn't plan ahead very well, so the best thing I could think of was to paint my face like a puppy. But I had a really great accessory...Joz!!

So far.

We decided to have a look at the house since neither of us have been by for a few days. It looked pretty good!! It's so exciting to see how much is accomplished every day. Wahooo!!!!!!

Walls!

Mom and I went over to check the progress on the house. To my delight, they've finished the sidewalls and even have our glass sliding door installed in the dining area.
Mom in front of our living room window. Can't wait to sit and stare at that!!

First Snow, Sub-Floors and a New Address

Well, it finally happened...it snowed in Palmer. Saturday morning we woke up to a blanket of white. I love the first snow because it makes everything look brand new. Joz liked it too and even held still long enough for me to take his picture. :)

In other news, our sub floors are down, and Jason and I chose all of our floor coverings, countertops and tile for our fireplace on Saturday. It took a few hours of coordinating and comparing, but I think it turned out really nice. Jason was very generous and let me have the final say, though I think we pretty much agreed on most everything. It was fun, but I'm definately glad it's over with.

And finally, we have a new address:

P.O. Box 3027, Palmer, AK 99645.

Special Delivery

Okay, Jason thinks it's a bit rediculous that I'm posting pictures of our lumber package, but I can't help it, that's how excited I am. So here it is, the makings of our house.

In case you're interested in concrete...

Our itty bitty sidewalk.

Garage Slab. Yay.

Concrete

Blogger isn't working properly so I can't post any photos right now. Not that concrete is that exciting to look at. Well, it is to me. Anyway, the slab is in for the garage and we have the cutest little paved sidewalk leading to the front door (or rather, where the front door will be). Framing starts on Friday and I imagine it will go rather quickly from there. More later.

A little at a time.

Not much going on with the house this week, though they did get it backfilled.
Here's a picture of the foundation from the garage. :)

Progress!!!

After over 6 months of nothing, I guess I should finally update this thing. Especially now that we actually have something exciting to blog about. Sorry, grandma's, no kiddos yet, but we are having a house built in Palmer. Yahoo! I walked over there from my mom's house today (yup, just a mile from my mom!) and took some pictures of the progress. It coming along quickly!

That's our foundation. Just a pile of blocks a few days ago. Our house will be south facing and we have an AMAZING view...

This is our fabulous view of Pioneer Peak!

The street sign...

Just another angle of the foundation.

I'll post a copy of the plans too. :)

Idaho Elk Hunt

Check out this beautiful bull!!!!
After 2 years of no hunting (because of moving and residency and stuff...) Jason finally got to go elk hunting. He bought his tag last spring, so he's been looking forward to this for quite some time. Well, all that waiting paid off. He had a successful archery hunt in Idaho with his friends, the Clevengers.

Not all fun and games. After the hunt you still gotta pack that big boy out!
